Fox continues to see the ratings erode for its onetime juggernaut “American Idol,” with Wednesday’s installment dipping 5% from last week, based on Nielsen overnights for the key 18-49 demo. But with much of the programming on rival broadcast networks being repeats, Fox still coasted to an easy win for prime time, TVbytheNumbers.com reports.

Meanwhile, ABC’s “Suburgatory” fell to a series low.

The two-hour “Idol” gave Fox a 3.7 average in viewers 18-49 for the night, well ahead of CBS (1.9 average), Univision (1.8), ABC (1.5) and NBC (1.1). Fox also scored a win in total viewers, averaging 12.7 million to beat CBS (7.9 million), ABC (4.8 million), Univision (4.3 million) and NBC (3.8 million).

ABC, NBC and CBS all aired mostly repeats.

CBS’s fresh installment of “Survivor” pulled in a 2.5 average in adults 18-49, down 4% from last week.

Fresh episodes of “The Neighbors” and “Suburgatory” on ABC both produced 1.7 averages, with “Neighbors” equaling last week’s number. For “Suburgatory,” it was a 23% drop from a week ago and an all-time low for the series. ABC’s best number was for a repeat of “Modern Family,” which pulled a 2.0.

NBC’s only fresh program was “Whitney,” which bucked the trend by rising from last week. The show was up 8% to a 1.3 in 18-49, its best number since Jan. 30.
