CBS rode an awards show to a big win in the ratings Sunday, based on Nielsen overnights for the key 18-49 demo. TVbytheNumbers.com reports that CBS’s “Academy of Country Music Awards” surged by 1.2 ratings points from last year, delivering a 4.3 average.

CBS crushed the competition for prime time overall, averaging a 3.6 rating in viewers 18-49 to come in well ahead of Fox (1.3 average), NBC (1.2), Univision (0.9) and ABC (0.7). ABC aired an all-repeat lineup, while Fox and NBC aired mostly repeats.

In total viewers, CBS was again well out front with 13.9 million for prime time, followed by NBC with 3.7 million, ABC with 3.3 million, Fox with 2.8 million and Univision with 2.5 million.

Fox’s only fresh program, “The Cleveland Show,” averaged a 1.6 rating in viewers 18-49, up three-tenths from its previous original airing.

NBC rolled out an original episode of “Celebrity Apprentice,” which drew a 1.4 in 18-49, slipping one-tenth from a week ago.
