In what is described as a competitive situation, pay-cable channel HBO has bought a drama project from popular singer-songwriter John Legend and producer-director Tony Krantz, reports Deadline.com.
The project, set in Miami’s South Beach, is about the fame and secrets within three worlds — the town’s music, sports and fashion circles, the piece says.
Called "Down Lo," the story will track a gay rapper living on the "down low" as homosexuality isn’t accepted in the hip-hop world. The project is written by playwright and writer Seth Zvi Rosenfeld, who is also producing with Krantz and Legend.
