An Oscar-nominated actress has been cast in the third season of FX’s "American Horror Story." EW.com’s Inside TV reports that "Precious" star Gabourey Sidibe is joining the show.

She will join Kathy Bates as a newcomer, along with returning stars Jessica Lange, Frances Conroy and Sarah Paulson. The third season, called "Coven," is thought to revolve around witchcraft, the story says.

Sidibe received an Oscar nomination for her lead role as Claireece “Precious” Jones in the 2009 film “Precious.”
