Comcast Corp. Chief Executive Brian Roberts and Steve Burke, the CEO of NBCUniversal, received salary increases in 2012, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Citing a regulatory filing Friday, the Times reports that Roberts earned $29 million in compensation last year, a jump of 8% from 2011. Burke saw a bigger increase in compensation — 11.3%, bringing his total to $26.3 million last year, the story says.

"Burke has been busy putting out brush fires throughout NBC. He jetted from New York to Los Angeles on Palm Sunday to work out a transition plan with NBC’s "Tonight Show" host Jay Leno, who will surrender his job and the late-night crown next February to Jimmy Fallon," the piece notes.

"Comcast assumed 100% control of NBCUniversal last month. Last year, Comcast controlled 51% of the media company but General Electric agreed to sell out its 49% stake during the last fiscal quarter, several years earlier than originally planned."

2012 was a good financial year for Comcast, with revenue up 12% and operating income boosted by 14%, the piece notes. Its stock price jumped 61% in 2012.
