It was a bad Tuesday night across the board for the broadcast networks, based on Nielsen overnights for the key 18-49 demo. TVbytheNumbers.com reports that all of the broadcast nets failed to reach a 2.0 average for prime time.

CBS had an especially rough time in the demo. On a night when its first two hours of prime time consisted of repeat programming, the network bowed its new series “Brooklyn DA” at 10 p.m., and the show attracted only a 1.0 average in viewers 18-49. it was the lowest-rated Tuesday night series premiere in the history of the network.

NBC’s “The Voice” was the top show of the night, but its 3.0 average in 18-49 represented a 6% decline from a week ago. NBC did eke out a win for the night overall with a 1.9 average rating.

NBC’s “The Voice” recap show slipped to a 1.7 in viewers 18-49, down 15% from two weeks ago. NBC also aired a repeat of “The Office” (1.0 average).

Second-place Fox got what it could out of a two-hour “So You Think You Can Dance,” a 1.8 average in 18-49, down 10% from last week.

ABC saw 1.2 averages across the board in the 18-49 demo, including the two-hour season premiere of “Extreme Weight Loss” (a retitled version of the show previously called “Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition”). The show was down 20% from its premiere a year ago, and was the lowest-rated premiere in series history.

Elsewhere on ABC, the series finale of “Body of Proof” also settled for a 1.2 in 18-49, equaling the show’s all-time low but good enough to win the 10 p.m. hour.

The grim numbers for prime time overall look like this: NBC led the 18-49 demo with a 1.9 average, followed by Fox (1.8 average), Univision (1.4), ABC (1.2) and CBS (1.1). CBS won total viewers with 7.3 million, followed by NBC (6.6 million), ABC (5.3 million), Fox (5.0 million) and Univision (3.4 million).
