The Muppets are getting a new hangout, and it’s a gallery devoted to the Jim Henson creations at the Museum of the Moving Image, reports The New York Times’ ArtsBeat.

The announcement comes after Henson’s family donated almost 400 puppets, costumes and other props to the museum, which is located in Astoria, Queens. Henson, the creator of the Muppets, died in 1990.

The gallery, expected to open in the winter of 2014-15, may display some of the 200 puppets it received, including Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Ernie, Bert and Count von Count.

"It’s only fitting that this extraordinary collection of puppets, costumes, props, and more should find a home in New York, where imagination and free expression are part of the fabric of our city, and where anyone who’s watched an episode of ‘Sesame Street’ sees the inspiration provided by the vibrant neighborhoods and characters that make our city so extraordinary," New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said in a statement.
