Netflix has taken the wraps off plans for its new Ricky Gervais series. Deadline.com reports that the online streaming service will launch the show, “Derek,” just after midnight on Sept. 12.

Gervais is the writer, director, executive producer and star of the series, which focuses on a naive lead character who is employed at a nursing home. The show is already on the air in the U.K.

“The show will launch stateside and in international Netflix territories including Canada, Ireland, Latin America, Brazil and the Nordics in seven 30-minute episodes launching simultaneously,” Deadline reports. “A second season has already been renewed.”

The comedy-drama series also stars David Earl, Karl Pilkington and Kerry Godliman as fellow employees.
