Josh Friedman, the executive producer behind "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," has signed a two-year overall deal with Universal Television and will join the new pirate drama "Crossbones," The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports.

Friedman is moving from 20th Television. Under his new deal, he will develop and supervise projects for the studio and will work as the co-executive producer on "Crossbones," which stars John Malkovich.

He recently served as an executive producer and writer on last year’s drama pilot "The Asset," which was passed over at Fox. He also served as a writer and consulting producer on Fox’s "The Finder," the short-lived spinoff from "Bones."
