‘Today’ Co-Host Says There Will Be a ‘Revolt’ if Matt Lauer Leaves

One of the regulars on NBC’s morning show “Today” came out this week with a strong show of support for Matt Lauer. TMZ.com reports that co-host Kathie Lee Gifford said there would be a "revolt" at the network if Lauer is allowed to leave the program.

Gifford was leaving Rockefeller Center on Monday when she expressed her views about Lauer, who has dropped in popularity among viewers since Ann Curry was ousted from the show last year.

Gifford said she felt Lauer had been unfairly demonized since Curry’s departure. She added that at one point she wanted to buy a full-page ad in a New York City newspaper to defend Lauer, but he talked her out of it, the story says.

  1. AS IF anyone actually cares what Kathie Lee has to say about anything. Utterly laughable, and not in a good way.

  2. Who care what Kathy thinks she’s also a NOTHING!! she needs to go also!!

  3. NBC should just cancel The Today Show. The program is now an outdated relic, no longer relevant in the digital era.

  4. Let Matt leave and the revolt begin if it includes KLG leaving as well! Anyone who would support that whole malicious crew can go.
