After television chef Paula Deen admitted she has used the N-word, the hashtag #PaulasBestDishes was trending on Twitter, with wags combining references to America’s troubled history of race relations with references to Deen’s Southern cuisine, reports the Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker.

The trend started with one user writing, "Separate But Equal Light & Dark Meat," adding the hashtag #PaulasBestDishes. The hashtag was the No. 1 trending topic on Twitter by Wednesday afternoon.

Other examples include "Lynchin’ Lemonade" and "Back of the Bus Biscuits," according to Awesomely Luvvie, a blog that collected some of the tweets.

Deen’s use of the N-word surfaced in a deposition for a court case in which a former employee of Deen claims she was subjected to racist and sexist comments, as we reported yesterday.
