A veteran TV comedy actor has signed on to return to the NBC drama "Parenthood" next season. Deadline.com reports that Ray Romano will bring back his character, Sarah’s boss and paramour Hank Rizzoli.

Romano will be a major part of the fifth season, appearing in 12 to 15 episodes — along the lines of the 14 episodes he appeared in during the show’s recent fourth season. His future on the show previously appeared to be in doubt after his character said he was moving to Minnesota to be near his daughter.

Sarah, played by Lauren Graham, had turned down her young boyfriend, played by Jason Ritter, to be with Hank.

Romano is returning to the show because of the strong relationship he developed with "Parenthood" executive producer Jason Katims, the piece adds.

Romano won an Emmy for his starring role on the CBS comedy "Everybody Loves Raymond" and co-created the cult TNT favorite "Men of a Certain Age."
