An instructor at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Va., approached the producers of "Portlandia" for permission to use a clip from the IFC show in its advanced-intelligence classes, which focus on crimes such as espionage and IP theft, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

It wasn’t exactly clear how the FBI Academy is incorporating the sketch, which is the show’s "Sanitation Twins" segment spoofing recycling culture, the story notes.

"This falls under the surreal category," co-star Carrie Brownstein told the publication. "We granted permission, although he didn’t tell us why he was interested." She added, "Maybe they’re just making fun of us?"
