The sixth-season premiere of HBO’s "True Blood" was down from the numbers for the show’s fifth-season opener, reports B&C.

The vampire drama drew 4.5 million viewers to its Sunday premiere, down 13% from its fifth-season premiere and off 11% from its finale last August, the story adds.

Across two airings, about 5.6 million total viewers tuned in to the episode. The program faced competition from the NBA Finals on ABC.

The HBO special “#TrueBlood: Live from the Set,” a companion piece to the premiere featuring a cast Q&A, attracted 2.3 million viewers, the report notes.
