Weeks before it is set to debut its freshman season on Netflix, the streaming service has picked up a second season of the comedy series "Orange Is the New Black," The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports.

Netflix asked for 13 additional episodes in a second season from Lionsgate TV. The project is from "Weeds" creator Jenji Kohan, and is based on a memoir from Piper Kerman.

The cast includes Laura Prepon, Taylor Schilling, Jason Biggs and Kate Mulgrew.

The first season will debut July 11.
