Report: CBS Anchor Pelley Sent to DC Bureau to Make Amends With Staffers

CBS News anchor Scott Pelley was reportedly sent to the network’s Washington, D.C., bureau to make amends for rubbing staffers the wrong way, according to the New York Post’s Page Six.

One issue was an incident in which Pelley allegedly lost his temper at CBS News employees when his colleague John Miller broke the news about the State Department sex scandal on "CBS This Morning," instead of on Pelley’s evening newscast, the story says.

Pelley told the Post he didn’t have a meltdown over the news report. He added, "You wouldn’t last 10 seconds at CBS News. This is not how reporters do their job. You called my publicist but not me in my office?”

The Post writes that when its reporter called Pelley to ask about the trip to D.C., he was told to call a publicist. The representative said, "Scott is often in Washington, was a correspondent there for many years, and talks all the time with members of the team.”
