Alec Baldwin has apologized for a Twitter rant last week following James Gandolfini’s funeral. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor apologized for using homophobic language in tweets aimed at Daily Mail reporter George Stark.

Stark had reportedly said Baldwin’s wife, Hilaria, tweeted during the funeral service last week, including sending messages about anniversary presents. As previously reported, Baldwin sent profanity-laced tweets to Stark, including calling the reporter a "toxic little queen."

Baldwin deleted his Twitter account after the rant. Both he and his wife denied that she tweeted during the funeral.

Baldwin later apologized for using homophobic language. In a letter sent Friday to GLAAD, Baldwin said his "ill-advised attack” on Stark “had absolutely nothing to do with issues of anyone’s sexual orientation.”

"My anger was directed at Mr. Stark for blatantly lying and disseminating libelous information about my wife and her conduct at our friend’s funeral service. As someone who fights against homophobia, I apologize,” he said.

  1. Why is Alec Baldwin not treated the same as Paula Deen for his discriminatory remarks? I didn’t see Capital One or Wegman’s dropping or even criticizing his recent homophobic remarks.

  2. Because he’s a liberal. I don’t know Paula’s political leanings, but many people probably assume she’s a conservative because she’s from the South. And thus her unfortunate remarks are viewed more harshly, despite multiple apologies.
