NBC, which already has one high-profile new game show in the works in "Million Second Quiz," is doubling down on the game show genre. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that the network has given a straight-to-series order for "Wall of Fame," a show featuring families competing for money by answering pop-culture trivia questions.

The show, which consists of eight hour-long episodes, will allow contestants to guess whether members of the celebrity "wall of fame" delivered the correct answer to the same questions, the story adds. The series is from Endemol USA.

"This series offers something for everyone in a unique game-show format that rewards families who know their pop-culture trivia,” said Paul Telegdy, NBC president of alternative and late-night programming.

NBC launched another new game show, "Hollywood Game Night," Thursday, July 11. "The unscripted series from Sean Hayes’ production company features host Jane Lynch overseeing a group of celebrities and contestants playing for prizes," the report notes.

"Million Second Quiz," a live 24-hour show, is being readied for fall, with Ryan Seacrest close to a deal to host.

The report adds: "Endemol USA (‘Wipeout,’ ‘1 vs. 100,’ ‘Dating in the Dark’) has a successful track record for producing game shows. The production company previously developed ‘Deal or No Deal’ based on the international format that aired in more than 50 countries and aired on NBC for four seasons, consistently ranking as one of NBC’s highest-rated shows."
