A comedy project that just missed being picked up to series is still alive at NBC. Deadline.com reports that the untitled pilot from "The Office" alum Craig Robinson remains in play at the network.

The project has received an order for three additional scripts, and the network has extended the options on the entire cast, the story reports. The project is about a musician, played by Robinson, who becomes a middle-school music teacher.

The cast also includes Larenz Tate, Amanda Lund and Jean Smart.

Along with his role as Darryl Philbin on NBC’s "The Office," Robinson is known for his work in feature films including "Pineapple Express" and "Zack and Miri Make a Porno." He is also a singer and a stand-up comedian.

The pilot is from Universal TV, Deedle-Dee Productions and 3 Arts.
