A contestant who starred on ABC’s "The Bachelor" was hospitalized in critical condition, and is said to be on life support.

People magazine reports that Gia Allemand, who appeared on "The Bachelor’s" 14th season, was taken to University Hospital in New Orleans "following a serious emergency medical event" Monday night, according to a statement from ABC.

E! Online News is reporting that Allemand is on life support.

Allemand, 29, reportedly had her mother and her boyfriend, NBA player Ryan Anderson of the New Orleans Pelicans, with her.

"On behalf of the family, we kindly ask for privacy at this time," the ABC statement said. It didn’t provide additional information about the emergency.

Jake Pavelka, who courted Allemand on the show, reportedly issued a tweet Tuesday saying: "Please pray for @GiaAllemand… A dear friend and one of the sweetest women I know… #powerofprayer."
