Chart: Top 10 Programs: Product Placement, First Three Quarters 2007

Products made more appearances in the broadcast shows with the most product placement, according to the Nielsen Product Placement Service. The top 10 shows in product placement on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, The CW and MyNetworkTV registered 22,046 occurrences over the first nine months of 2007, compared to 19,125 in the year-earlier period. “American Idol,” the top show, had 4,349 occurrences. “Idol” sponsor Coca-Cola was the most-seen advertiser.
On cable, the top 10 shows for product placement showed a drop from 160,118 appearances to 136,078. “American Chopper” on TLC was the No. 1 show for product placement on cable.
