Bolstered by a deal with key Fox stations, Debmar-Mercury has cleared upcoming game show “Trivial Pursuit: America Plays” in more than 55% of the country and has been given a go heading toward its September debut.
Among the Fox affiliates snapping up the strip are those in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Baltimore.
Stations from the Cox, CBS, Belo, Gannett, Scripps, Raycom Media and Weigel Broadcasting groups also are on board. The series now is cleared in eight of the top 10 markets.
“‘Trivial Pursuit: America Plays’ has easily exceeded our expectations since our alliance with Hasbro was announced in September,” said Debmar-Mercury co-president Mort Marcus. “Due to strong demand for the show, Hasbro and Debmar-Mercury are giving ‘Trivial Pursuit’ a firm go.”
Debmar-Mercury previously announced that it had partnered with Hasbro to bring “Trivial Pursuit” to the small screen as a half-hour strip. Questions for the strip will come from viewers across the U.S.
“Trivial Pursuit captured the imagination and passion of millions of game players when it was introduced 25 years ago,” said Phil Jackson, group executive for Hasbro Games. “Transforming this iconic classic into an interactive television experience is one of the exciting ways that we’re establishing the brand for success over the next 25 years.”

  1. I’d like to see Trivial Pursuit in Charleston WV as my daughter, Suzanne Lawrence, was a winner today. Can we get a tape if there is no hope of a broadcast? Thank you.

  2. Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

  3. Keep focusing on your blog. I love how we can all express our feelings. This is an extremely nice blog here 🙂
