Marketers at the kids networks are playing musical chairs.
Nickelodeon veteran Brenda Freeman has jumped to Turner Animation, Young Adults & Kids Media, where she will be chief marketing officer.
At Nickelodeon, Samantha Maltin was promoted to senior VP of integrated marketing and partnerships for Nickelodeon and the MTV Kids & Family Group. Ms. Maltin most recently was VP of Viacom Brand Solutions, working for both Viacom and MTV Networks.
“Samantha has a perfect blend of experience for this role with her knowledge of all the Nickelodeon Kids & Family assets and her history managing some of our top marketing partners,” said Pam Kaufman, chief marketing officer for Nickelodeon Kids & Family Group. “I have no doubt that as the leader of the integrated marketing team, she will provide completely innovative, multiplatform, custom campaigns for our existing and future advertising partners.”
Ms. Freeman had been senior VP of integrated marketing and promotions for Nickelodeon and MTV Kids & Family Group. At Turner, she will oversee marketing, on-air and trade creative services for the cable television networks Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and Boomerang, along with their online businesses, and the digital enterprises GameTap and Super Deluxe.
“Brenda brings with her an impressive track record of experience and leadership that has helped build the growth and success of several major entertainment and consumer brands,” said Stuart Snyder, executive VP and chief operating officer of Turner Animation. “With our multiple media properties now aligned under a single umbrella covering kids and young adults, we wanted to install a formidable marketing visionary who could leverage the assets of each business to help build and increase their collective impact. We’re delighted that Brenda has accepted this new challenge and look forward to her contributions as we continue to form our distinctive voice and brand identities.”
