National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences President Peter Price took the stage early this morning at New York’s St. Regis Hotel to announce the 29th annual Sports Emmy nominations, recognizing outstanding achievement in television sports coverage. This year’s list includes some broadband content..
Mr. Price was joined by Fox Sports president Ed Goren, Turner Sports President David Levy and HBO Sports President Ross Greenburg for the announcement.
The Sports Emmys will be presented April 28 in a ceremony at Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York’s Time Warner Center.
HBO was the most-nominated network with 31, followed by ESPN with 27, NBC with 23, Fox with 18, CBS with 17 and TNT with 12. Those were the only networks with double-digit nomination tallies.
The Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to four-time Emmy winner Frank Chirkinian, called by many the “Father of Televised Golf.”
