Viewership and ratings are up by double-digit percentages for this year’s NCAA Women’s Division I College Basketball Tournament’s first two rounds of coverage on ESPN and ESPN2.
ESPN2, which aired most of the games, saw household ratings increase 29% from last year, reaching 546,000 households for the March 22-25 weekend. Ratings increased by 20%, up to 0.6 from last year’s 0.5 during the same time frame.
ESPN had similar jumps for its coverage, up 40% in household numbers (to 482,000) and 25% in ratings (to 0.5 from last year’s 0.4).
NCAA Women’s Basketball coverage on ESPN.com also increased, up 27% in page views and 19% in number of visits, from the same time period last year.

  1. Love watching the women even better than the men. GO UCONN!!! Can’t stand the game switching in the middle of a game. I turned in to watch the WHOLE GAME, not just portions of the game.
I don’t care if one team is ahead by alot. Show me the WHOLE GAME!!!

  2. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to watch this great game, but there could be improvements. I love watching the women’s game, but don’t understand why ESPN with it’s “exclusive” coverage of the women’s tournament didn’t use it’s family of networks to show more games!! The Men’s NIT was on ESPN and no women’s games on ESPNU or Classic most of the time!! So, switches in midgame were common – but when a major team was playing and had a big lead – no switch to a more competitive game?? I wouldn’t mind paying for Full Court if there were women’s games throughout the season to make it worthwhile.
