MacFarlane’s ‘Cavalcade’ Takes Off on Web

Oct 10, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Television writer Seth MacFarlane’s Web series “Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy” has earned more than 14 million views in its first three weeks online, according to the show’s backer, Media Rights Capital.
MRC negotiated the deal for the online show to run on YouTube, Sethcomedy.com and across Google’s content network.
Those numbers put it on track to become one of the top series on the Internet, in the company of programs such as Michael Eisner’s “Prom Queen,” which earned more than 20 million views in its run last year.
Mr. MacFarlane’s show is a collection of shorts featuring all-new animated characters that is sponsored by Burger King.
Mr. MacFarlane’s celebrity status as the creator of “Family Guy” has probably contributed to “Cavalcade’s” popularity on the Web, and the numbers reflect the growing importance of having established Hollywood talent attached to Internet projects.
