Mark Burnett is looking to breathe new life into “This Is Your Life.”
The powerhouse producer has signed a deal with Ralph Edwards Productions to develop an updated version of the classic show, in which people are surprised by unexpected reunions with key figures from their past. Launched as a radio program in 1948, “This Is Your Life” first aired on TV from 1952 until 1961.
“As a franchise with broad appeal for viewers of all generations, ‘This Is Your Life’ is a perfect fit for our company,” Mr, Burnett, president of Mark Burnett Productions, said in a statement.
Barbara Dunn-Leonard, president of Ralph Edwards Productions, called the show one of “the most enduring programs to air on television.”
“There is no better partner to carry on the legacy of ‘This Is Your Life’ and introduce the program to a new generation of fans,” Ms. Dunn-Leonard said.
Mr. Burnett’s involvement comes about three years after Fox TV Studios attempted to bring back the format. The studio set up a revival of the franchise at ABC, signing Regis Philbin to host and landing a six-episode commitment. ABC ultimately didn’t move forward with the show, however.
The new incarnation is not currently set up at a network.
The William Morris Agency brokered the deal between Mr. Burnett and Ralph Edwards Productions.

  1. Lindsay Lohan blames a part of her problems on the tabloids idealizing hard partying stars, claiming “I’d personally idolize those babes … the Britneys and whatever. And I would be like, I would like to resemble that.” Lindsay Lohan went on to pronounce, “I see where that has gotten me now,” she says, “and I really do not like it.”

  9. The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

  10. Thank you for the sensible critique. Me and my neighbor were just preparing to do some research about this. We got a grab a book from our local library but I think I learned more from this post. I am very glad to see such great information being shared freely out there

  11. Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

  12. I need to tell you that I’m an IT professional and your site doesn’t validate for xHTML.
