Scott Goldberg, KARE-TV Reporter

Nov 30, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Background: Mr. Goldberg worked at small-market stations in Illinois, Virginia and South Carolina before working as a freelance reporter for National Public Radio, for which he covered economic and political crises in Argentina.

TV News Talent

After returning to the United States, Mr. Goldberg became a reporter at KARE-TV in Minneapolis. At the Gannett-owned NBC affiliate, he broke the story of the Minnesota Vikings’ “love boat” scandal in 2005; he also garnered attention for his coverage of the University of Minnesota riots in 2003 and the tsunami in Sri Lanka in 2005.

Buzz: His credentials are impeccable. He’s known far outside Minneapolis as a great storyteller. He’s fluent in Spanish. He’s got that grown-up male quality increasingly hard to find in TV news. He’s even able to answer those silly personal-profile questions found on station Web sites without eroding his credibility.

  1. Well deserved recognition, Mr. Goldberg.

  2. Scott is a good reporter but I remember him throwing a lot of temper tantrums in the newsroom. Maybe he’s grown over the years.
