Larry Klein, two-time Emmy Award winner and producer of multiple installations of “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” and “The American Music Awards,” has been tapped as showrunner for Litton Entertainment’s “The Brian McKnight Show,” the distributor announced today.
The weekly show hosted by the Grammy-nominated Mr. McKnight is set to launch this fall. The program will feature live performances from musicians, comedians, and Hollywood stars.
“Larry Klein and Brian McKnight have worked together for years, ensuring instant comfort and success for ‘The Brian McKnight Show,’” series executive producer and Litton President-CEO Dave Morgan said in a statement. “Larry’s producing skills and Hollywood connections will make our show look and feel so smooth and mature from day one that viewers will feel we are in our third season.”
Litton announced “McKnight” as a “firm go” earlier in the month, revitalized by MyNetworkTV’s announcement that it is moving toward a syndication-based programming model and giving Saturdays back to affiliates to program.
