Chris Rohrs is stepping down as president of the Television Bureau of Advertising at the end of the year, the organization said Wednesday.
Mr. Rohrs has held the post since 2000.
Frank Comerford of NBC Universal, who serves as president of the TVB board, said a search committee has been formed to find a successor.
“It will be very hard to replace Chris Rohrs,” said Mr. Comerford. “He has elevated the organization to new heights and is one of the industry’s visionaries.”
Mr. Rohrs said that he plans to remain engaged at TVB for the rest of the year.
“It’s been a great privilege to lead TVB and I’m grateful for the support of the Board and the staff during my time here,” Mr. Rohrs said. “I believe in television more than I ever have. It’s the only medium with the power to match up to the challenge that this brutal recession poses.”
