ABC Cuts Runs of ‘Motherhood,’ ‘Samantha’ by a Week

ABC is leaving the “Motherhood” earlier than planned.
The network Monday said it was ending its Thursday night sitcom experiment a week earlier than planned, pulling “In the Motherhood” and “Samantha Who?” following the shows’ April 23 broadcasts.
That means “Ugly Betty,” which wasn’t slated to return to ABC’s lineup until May 7, will reappear on April 30.
“Motherhood” and “Samantha” have struggled mightily to find an audience in the 8 p.m. Thursday hour. Last week, the two shows averaged less than 5 million viewers for the timeslot, ranking a distant fourth in the hour.
“Motherhood” is considered a long shot for a second season. ABC brass are fans of “Samantha,” but the show has not been able to attract viewers when not behind a successful series such as “Dancing With the Stars.”

  1. Well why are they saddling the return of GA which has been off the air for 3 weeks with shows that will get 1’s. Can’t they pull them off this week too? I don’t get the logic.

  2. In the Motherhood is not only super funny,
it’s fresh and unique! Megan Mullally makes
it even more wonderful to watch. I get so
frustrated that these networks don’t give
great shows like this one a chance! There’s
so much what I call mediocre garbage on tv
these days. ‘ITM’ deserves it original amount
of episodes to air! Hope they wise up and renew
for next season. I LOVE ‘In the Motherhood’!
Giove a great thing a chance!

  3. They definitely need to give these shows more of a chance. They are by far my favorite shows on TV right now, but why did they put them on Thursday, not give them a chance to find an audience, and then pull them without warning?

  4. Lindsay Lohan is eligable for any sentence of one year which would mean that her doing around 60 days. She’s earned the longer time in prison so we can all trust we have a judge who see’s this.

  5. My Christian theories let me know Jesus desires us to turn another cheek. Thankfully we’re a country that separates the church and state; its high time we as Us citizens just inform Ahmadinejad to go to hell. With regards to the UN, I’d personally go for my tax cash sent on The Bridge to No Where. At a minimum we’d have something to show for it.

  6. I would like to start my own blog one day. This was a really nice blog that you made here. Keep up the success 😛

  7. I am not in truth positive if best practices cover emerged around stuff similar to that, other than I am sure that your big work is clearly identified. I was questioning if you offer one subscription to your RSS feeds because I would be very concerned.
