Telemundo’s Monday-Friday Prime-Time Ratings Rank as Best Season in Network History, Up 8% in Total Viewers

TELEMUNDO’s Monday-Friday primetime programming delivered the best season in network history among total viewers with 1.57 million viewers, an eight percent increase over last season (1.45 million), according to Nielsen. The network averaged 790,000 adults 18-49, up 12 percent from last season (705,000), making it the second highest-rated season in network history. TELEMUNDO garnered a 32% share among adults 18-49 during primetime this season, up five points vs. last season, marking the fifth consecutive season of share growth and best in network history. Additionally, the network gained more adults 18-49 vs. the prior season than any other Spanish-language broadcast network, with an increase of 85,000 viewers in the demo.

The 2014-2015 season was fueled by the successful Super Series franchise Monday-Friday at 10pm, with 2.05 million total viewers, up 57% vs. last season (1.31 million). In the daypart, TELEMUNDO gained more total viewers vs. prior season than any other Spanish-language broadcast network, up 740,000. The 10-11pm hour on Monday- Friday averaged more adults 18-49 in its history and grew faster vs. prior season than any other Spanish-language broadcast network, up 62% (1.22 million viewers vs. 751,000). The network earned a 46 share among adults 18-49 at 10pm, the best in TELEMUNDO’s history, with an increase of 19 points vs. last season. As a result, TELEMUNDO and its closest competitor had its smallest gap at 10pm, with just 6,000 separating the two networks (TEL 1,220,000 vs. UNI 1,226,000), the closest performance ever for TELEMUNDO. TELEMUNDO was the #1 Spanish-language broadcast network Monday-Friday from 10-11pm on 75 nights, or 44% of the 2014-2015 season, among adults 18-49. The network beat at least one English-language broadcast network in the time slot on 53 nights (31% of the season) and ranked #1 regardless of language on five nights.

The network also was strong with Monday-Friday programming in the 7-8pm ET hour with “Caso Cerrado Edicion Estelar,” delivering its best adults 18-49 share ever with 35 points, up from 31 the prior season, and 1.65 million total viewers, up 2% from last season.

In addition, TELEMUNDO’s digital business has experienced significant increase, reaching 5.2 million monthly users season-to-date, up 118% from prior season. Over the same period, Telemundo.com has garnered 475 million page views, up 28% season-to-season, and 82 million video streams, up 16%. Telemundo.com mobile web has seen the largest growth of all platforms, with monthly uniques increasing 354% season-over-season.

Programming Highlights:

During the 2014-2015 season, the following programs delivered its best season ever in network history:

“Un Nuevo Dia” delivered 309,000 total viewers and 145,000 adults 18-49, making it the fastest-growing broadcast morning news program, regardless of language, up 54% in total viewers and 51% in adults 18-49 vs. last year. The morning show’s digital page reached 480,369 monthly uniques, up 363%.

“Noticiero Telemundo” achieved 945,000 total viewers and 386,000 adults 18-49, becoming the fastest-growing broadcast evening news program, regardless of language, up 11% in total viewers and 12% in adults 18-49 vs. prior season. On the digital front, “Noticiero Telemundo” reached 768,000 monthly uniques, up 507% season-to-season.

“Al Rojo Vivo” delivered 477,000 adults 18-49, a 6% increase vs. last year and recorded its second best season among total viewers (1.12 million). In addition, “Al Rojo Vivo” is the top digital property season-to-date, reaching 795,000 unique users each month, up 328% from last season.

“Enfoque” delivered 180,000 total viewers, and its second best season in adults 18-49 with 84,000.

“Titulares y Mas” is up 35% in adults 18-49 (243,000 vs. 180,000) and 42% in total viewers (438,000 vs. 309,000).

“Boxeo Telemundo” is up 14% in total viewers (388,000 vs. 339,000) vs. last season, and grew 22% in adults 18-49 (185,000 vs. 152,000), ranking as the #1 boxing program on Spanish television.
