Exclusive Podcast: 'Entourage' Soundtrack Under Way

In this week's exclusive Backlot talk podcast, "Entourage" creator Doug Ellin confirmed a CD soundtrack for the show is on its way.

"We've been working on it for so long and it never seems to be coming out, but it's supposed to be coming out in August."

Amazon.com lists the CD for pre-order, with a release date of Aug. 14.

With "Entourage's" seven Emmy nominations last week, Doug Ellin succeeded in his mission to get Kevin Dillon nominated. As revealed exclusively in a previous Backlot Talk, the "Entourage" creator wrote the episode "The Resurrection" specifically with that goal in mind.

Of last night's episode, "WeHo Ho," Mr. Ellin said it marks an important point in the evolution of Vince and E's relationship, since they are for the first time on different sides of the fence about Vince's next project.

For more "Entourage" scoop, including whether Matt Dillon will ever guest on the show, listen to the complete interview with Mr. Ellin, at TVWeek.com's Backlot Talk podcast.

Greg MacGregor:

Man, August 14th can't come fast enough. Glad to hear a soundtrack is coming. (Turtle was likely behind it!)

LT:

That girl, Melissa, or something is the WORST interviewer I have ever heard. I am surprised Doug Ellin puts up with her. More than half of the interview is her talking, and she makes stupid comments and takes forever to introduce her questions. Also, she said six times "One last question..." Her voice is almost too low to hear. Stick with the male interviewer - he's one thousand percent better.

Melissa Grego:

Ouch!
But thanks for the feedback and listening anyway.
We're working on the audio-tech issues.
I'll also certainly take your comments into account next time around.
Melissa

Andrew McCleary:

I totally disagree, I listen to these interviews all the time and I think she get's some really good stuff out of Doug Ellin.

Jordan Ray Allen:

Message for Melissa Grego,

Melissa,

I listened to your podcast interview with Doug Ellin. I understand that he is seeking writers. However, I know he isn't running around L.A. handing out applications. Do you have any information or authority as far as recommending writers to him? When you mentioned someone who believed he understood Entourage's writing formula, Ellin sort of laughed and told you to have the gentleman pass on the ideas -- and then he went into the specifics of needing writers. I have Season 5 writing samples and I would like Doug Ellin to consider them for a refreshing addition to the series.

Greatly Appreciated,

J.R.A.

Writer's Strike :

Any chance Melissa G can contact Doug Ellin and do a podcast about the Writer's Strike and how it impacts Entourage. There's an ugly rumor floating around the boards (thanks to Adrian Grenier and Rex Lee) that the show will not be returning at all. Can we find out from Doug Ellin is he is on board to go full steam once the strike is over, or if the rumors are true that the show won't be back? Thanks!
