Online video-sharing sites continue to see growing usage, and YouTube is still way out in front of its competitors.
Online video sites in general lured about 73 million unique visitors in July, according to Web audience measurement firm Nielsen//NetRatings. About 75 percent of that audience stopped at YouTube, which drew 55 million unique viewers in July, up from 51 million in June.
Rounding out the top five for July were MySpace with 18 million, Google Video with 16 million, AOL Video with 15 million and Yahoo Video with 14 million.
Those five sites also jockeyed for position in June, with YouTube the runaway leader then as well.
However, look for Google Video to continue shedding audience in the coming months. The company said last week that it would close its download-to-own and download-to-rent store by mid-August.
