TNT has renewed “Saving Grace,” its original series starring Holly Hunter.
With “The Closer” as its lead in, “Saving Grace” has been averaging 5.5 million viewers, tops among new shows on cable. The show’s second season will have 15 episodes.
“Saving Grace is a wholly original, thought-provoking show with a dynamic, gut-wrenching performance by one of Hollywood’s top actresses at its center,” said Michael Wrights, senior VP in charge of the Content Creation Group for TNT, TBS and TCM. “We’re thrilled at the response to the show and happy that it has connected with its audience. And we’re proud to be extending the run of this exciting new series as it continues to build on its success.”
Turner has not renewed its other original series, "Heartland," which premiered with "The Closer" as its lead in earlier this summer, but was replaced in the time slot by "Saving Grace." "Heartland" did not retain as many viewers from "The Closer" and is unlikely to return.
“Saving Grace” is produced by Fox Television Studios and was created by Nancy Miller.
