- 'Sopranos' Only Sure Thing Among Night of Emmy Surprises
What: TV Guide’s post-Emmys party
Where: Les Deux, Hollywood
When: Sunday, Sept. 16
Entertainment: John Legend, Kanye West, Band From TV (Hugh Laurie, Greg Grunberg and James Denton)
Decor: Hollywood hotspot Les Deux was transformed into a French burlesque-inspired gala. Cleavage was everywhere as women in corsets and bodices served guests food and drink. Ladies with white wigs dressed as Marie Antoinette were scattered around the premises serving champagne and swinging seductively on large chair swings. Red and black dominated the event. A large stage was set up under a tent with plush couches for guest seating. Oil of Olay set up a station in one of the rooms, complete with Olay champagne flutes and products.
Food and drink: A Nabisco-sponsored station had vegetables, crackers and cheese. Servers passed around puffed pastry hors d’oeuvres, humongous chocolate-dipped strawberries, candies, mints and chocolates. Numerous bars set up around the venue served champagne and mixed drinks.
Highlights: Kanye West! After John Legend’s performance, the rapper made a surprise appearance to partygoers’ delight. Kanye treated guests to four songs and, of course, a speech about how well his album is doing. Emmy winner Terry O’Quinn (“Lost”) was camped out in a booth near the stage for most of the night enjoying the music. Celebrities included Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, Vanessa Williams, Paula Abdul, Sara Ramirez, Johnny Galecki and Pink.
