NBC Agency East Coast Absorbs MSNBC Creative Services

Val Nicholas and David LipsiusNBC is folding MSNBC’s creative services department into the NBC Agency East Coast.

“By combining the East Coast NBC Agency and MSNBC creative service departments, we’ve created a dynamic creative unit to oversee the news brands,” said John Miller, chief marketing officer at NBC Universal Television Group.

Val Nicholas, who had been VP of creative services at MSNBC, was named VP, business development. He will continue as creative director for MSNBC. In his new role, he will work to monetize the creative work being done within the agency.

David Lipsius, who had been senior director of operations for the NBC Agency East Coast, has been promoted to VP operations for the division.

“The integration of MSNBC creative services is a natural fit for the agency and will allow us to maximize our effort across the board,” said Frank Radice, executive VP of the NBC Agency East Coast, to whom Mr. Lipsius will report.
