Radiohead Performs ‘Rainbows’ on Current

Cable network Current TV will carry a special performance on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day by one of the year’s most talked-about bands, Radiohead, the network announced today.
Radiohead will perform all the songs from its new album “In Rainbows,” which the band self-released on the Internet this fall in a bold experiment that allowed fans to choose how much they wanted to pay for the digital download.
Current will run the hourlong performance commercial-free on-air and on its Web site, Current.com. The concert starts at 9 p.m. PST on Dec. 31 and will repeat the following day.
The performance also will be archived on the network’s Web site.
Current is available in 41 million homes.
The Radiohead album has been cited as the top album of the year by many news outlets, including the New York Times and National Public Radio.
