World Poker Tour, whose pioneering TV show sparked the boom of card games on television, unveiled a new Web site powered by digital marketing and technology firm Digitaria.
The revamp is part of World Poker Tour’s effort to bolster its online brand, the companies said in a press release.
The new World Poker Tour site, at www.worldpokertour.com, can target specific content based on a user’s location. Thus, if a consumer lives in an area that restricts online gambling, the system bars the user from betting.
World Poker Tour, founded by Steve Lipscomb, telecasts poker tournaments filmed at various locations. WPT has awarded more than $300 million in prize money.
Other Digitaria clients include Asics Shoes, the Atlanta Falcons, CBS Corp. and NBC Universal.
Digitaria CEO Daniel Khabie said the new World Poker Tour Web site is built to ensure consistent online presence for the company, no matter where it is accessed.
