CBS has cemented its lineup for next season, renewing 11 series in a move that will bring back 10 hours of the network’s prime-time schedule and eight of the top 20 scripted series on television.
Series getting the greenlight include dramas “Cold Case,” “Criminal Minds,” “CSI,” “CSI: Miami,” “CSI: NY,” “Ghost Whisperer,” “NCIS,” “Numb3rs” and “Without a Trace.” Among sitcom fare, both “Two and a Half Men” and freshman series “The Big Bang Theory” earned new seasons.
The network previously announced that “Survivor” and “The Amazing Race” would return as well.
The pickups do leave a number of series in the dark on their fates for the 2008-09 season, including “How I Met Your Mother” and “The New Adventures of Old Christine” on the comedy side and “Moonlight” among the dramas.
A CBS representative said no decisions had been made on those shows for next fall, noting episodes for series such as “How I Met Your Mother” had received orders to complete the strike-shortened season.

Moonlight's rabid fanbase will definitely have something to say about their favorite show having been left off the renewal list.
Moonlight has helped CBS to maintain the Friday night demographic it seeks in the age 19 to 49 group.
I call on all Moonlight fans to go to www.cbs.com/moonlight, go to Feedback, and leave your feedback on how much you want Moonlight to remain on the schedule. Also, don't forget, if you own a TiVo, to watch your recorded Moonlight episodes all over again (and again) because TiVo sends not only first run viewing information but REPEAT viewing information to CBS, and they DO pay attention to rewatching. They also pay attention when you watch the streaming episodes on the website.

Say it isn't so! No Moonlight? Must be an oversight on the part of the powers that be. The rabid fanbase will be on the feedback link in no time at all. Please, CBS, you must hear us out here. Give Moonlight the second season that it's strong ratings deserve!

This is crazy! Moonlight has a huge fan base, won the PCA for best new drama and gets consistent ratings. What more can we do to convince CBS to renew this great show?
Everyone I talk to at school and at work loves this show. Please renew it!
thanks!

No decision has been made about Moonlight? Are you kidding me?! This show has more than proven itself, with its fanbase increasing each episode, and the show itself overwhelmingly winning the prized demographics every Friday night. Each episode gets better and better and I was overjoyed to hear that CBS is giving us 4 more episodes this season. To not give Moonlight its well deserved second season is a red flag in the face of a huge fanbase that will not take this news quietly. I would imagine that CBS will soon be swamped with feedback and e-mails, demanding Moonlight be given its well deserved second season. I would also imagine that truck loads of garlic would not smell as sweet as roses should CBS not hear our plea!

I can't believe this is happening. Open your eyes and see what you have here CBS; Moonlight HAS to be given a second series, it just HAS to. Stop making things so hard for us fans; please give us a break.
This series, if given the chance, will grow and grow. We won't go down without a fight!
Posted by Dreamer | February 14, 2008 4:31 PM
WHAT THE?!! Are you SERIOUS?! There should be absolutely NO QUESTION that Moonlight should come back in the fall. The fanbase is ginormous and growing every single day, it won the PCAward, the writing and acting are SUPERB. This MUST be a mistake on someone's part. This is totally unacceptable.
There will be even more emails and letters if Moonlight does not return...guarantee that.

Moonlight is bottom line a winner. The numbers scream renewal not to mention winning the Peoples Choice Awards best new Drama... Moonlight is one of the best shows to come on television in years and the fan base just keeps growing every episode shown. Please bring Moonlight back for a second season CBS you will not be disappointed.

How can CBS not have already renewed Moonlight??? A Peoples Choice Award Winner with 10 million votes?? We Moonlight fans are a huge group who would not go quietly into that good night if Moonlight were not to be renewed. We are united in our belief that Moonlight is an excellent show, intriguing, emotional, action-packed, and all-together mesmerizing! We have even planned a convention for this show!! CBS, you must listen to our cries - Moonlight must go on!

I am attempting to remain calm as I write this.
CBS has yet to make a decision on Moonight? I simply cannot believe this. What does it take to get some respect for this great show. Moonlight wins the Demo weekly, it has gained viewship over the course of the episodes, it won the PCA for best new drama. How in heavens name can there be any question on a renewal?
CBS, renew this show now. Stop torturing the fans and do the right thing.

No moonlight??? After all this time, the moonlight fans are dying for a second season! we are so addicted, it has gotten good ratings, so what's up?
is there something we can do to get moonlight back with the other series? please!! i don't want my favorite show to be gone!
Posted by kcdilo12 | February 14, 2008 4:43 PM
CBS what is the matter with you?? Moonlight consistently maintains the coveted demographic for your Friday night lineup. It won the PCA for Best New Drama with 10 million votes - 10 MILLION!!! That's not peanuts CBS. It has a fanbase in place that is rabid for everything to do with this show. The first MoonlightCon is already in place for Memorial Day weekend. You are bringing it back for four new episodes this spring, which sent out a resounding hurrah from the fans. So I guess I don't understand why you could possibly be hesitating in announcing that Moonlight is going to be renewed for Season 2??? Does it really have to take sending tons of groceries to you to get the point cross???? Come on CBS - do the intelligent thing - give Moonlight the green light for Season 2.
Posted by ccblueberry | February 14, 2008 5:01 PM
CBS what are you thinking? Moonlight has a HUGE fan base! Not to mention a little award called THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE! CBS come on now, give the people that watch your network what they want. A second season of MOONLIGHT!
Posted by osidemlfan | February 14, 2008 5:02 PM
I simply cannot believe that CBS would not choose to renew MOONLIGHT after it received the People's Choice Best New Drama Award - what kind of sense does that make?! This show SINGLEHANDEDLY brought me personally back to network TV! MOONLIGHT has managed to find and maintain a very vocal and loyal audience made up of people of all ages and backgrounds DESPITE a crippling strike. Why leave them in the dark? Surely CBS can't feel this show still needs to prove itself?! Such decisions as this only serve to show the world that CBS ignores its viewers, something CBS will regret as soon as their viewers choose to ignore them and watch other stations. I know that's what I'll be doing should MOONLIGHT not get a second season. How very short-sighted of CBS - and what a slap in the face of its viewers!! VERY insulting!
Posted by Elizabeth Lee | February 14, 2008 5:07 PM
Has no one asked Les Moonves??.. he knows that "Moonlight" should be on that list.
I'll take some comfort in the fact that "Two and Half Men" isn't on the list..since it's one of CBS's best shows. Maybe that's it.. they are saving the best for last??
Come on CBS ..put us out of our misery. Renew "Moonlight" now.
Posted by Mary | February 14, 2008 5:12 PM
OOps..sorry..meant that "How I Met Your Mother" isn't on the list ;) I was just so upset about "Moonlight" not being there.. sorry.

Moonlight - "in the dark" as to a renewal by CBS??? This cannot be true! Please, please, CBS, look closely at the smartest, sweetest, most amazingly different show on television right now! You can practically TASTE the chemistry between Mick and Beth... giggle at Josef's snarkiness ....and boo-hiss at Coraline's evilness. The fan base is intelligent, with a wide range of ages (and spending power). How can you ignore ten million People's Choice votes? CBS, I beg you to put your finger on the pulse of Friday night viewers and renew Moonlight!
Posted by lynnrxgal | February 14, 2008 5:17 PM
Are you kidding me? Get with the program. Listen to your fans, People's Choice Award winner, Moonlight, PEOPLE'S choice. We are really getting tired of the games. Give us our second season or lose us for all your other shows.
Posted by elljaybee | February 14, 2008 5:24 PM
What does Moonlight have to do? A PCA for Best New Drama, winning their demo every week, and the development of one of the most rabid fanbases in the history of, well, history...and CBS hasn't renewed? I cannot begin to express how disappointed in CBS I am at this point. Please give us a second season of Moonlight. Please. The fans are begging, screaming, and crying for a renewal.

I feel Sick to my stomach. Why has CBS not included Moonlight on the list for next season???? This show has such an amazing fan base and won the Peoples Choice Award and consistantly won the 18-49 demo, come ON! What more do you want? BLOOD? I thought Les Mooves and Nina Tessler loved the show? COME ON CBS... Get with the program and pick up a second season.
Posted by Kathy | February 14, 2008 5:39 PM
CBS, please listen to the fans...We love this show and the ratings prove it. We made it People's Choice for Best New Drama...You can't and should not ignor the viewers, we are the ones that decide what shows to watch and/or even to watch a show that CBS puts out...Don't ignor the fans of this show, we are a strong group of people, of all ages, men and woman....This has got to renewed....please give us a statement that there was a mistate and that you are renewing Moonlight for 2008-2009 Season.
Posted by Cggirl | February 14, 2008 5:39 PM
TO my utter amazement I find that CBS has evidently made a tragic error by not adding MOONLIGHT to their list of renewed TV shows. I am quite sure that this was an oversight because they would never intentionally let the PEOPLE'S CHOICE WINNER for new Drama, or lose one of the three already successful Friday Night threesome. I am totally shocked to see this and am a very Rabid Fan of Moonlight, it's sad that after all the success of this show in such a short time that CBS would actually make us BEG. This is wrong on so many levels and someone should right this wrong. DO THE RIGHT THING AND RENEW MOONLIGHT BECAUSE IT DESERVES IT, IT'S TOP QUALITY AND THAT'S WHAT CBS SHOULD STRIVE TO PRODUCE WITH EVERY SHOW IT AIRS. WE ARE YOUR CUSTOMERS.
THANK YOU, AND I'LL BE WAITING

Hey, CBS!!! What about your People's Choice Award winner for Best New Drama? Moonlight is more than deserving of a Season 2 pickup. You've already acknowledged its popularity by ordering four more episodes this season, and the Paley Center will be honoring it on April 22nd.
What more do you need to step up and show that you, too value your shining new series?
Renew Moonlight!!!

I am of the demographic that can and does buy products from advertisers who put shows on the air that I prefer to watch. I enjoy Moonlight immensely, and find it rediculous that with the ratings this show has had, and the fact it has won the People's Choice Award, that it would not automatically be included in the 2008-2009 lineup. What more does such a good show have to prove? Star Trek suffered from the same lack of judgement, and years later the film and TV franchise for that series had blossomed into a financial bonanza. It's STILL makiing money! If that is the motivation, follow the fact that shows fans follow with such zeal are the ones that produce cash flow in the long run...

Posted by dew | February 14, 2008 6:57 PM
Please add me to the growing list of folks who are expressing their concern and confusion at Moonlight not being on the list of those shows that have been renewed. I think I'll just consider it to be a clerical error, a typo, since, as many have pointed out before me, it is the People's Choice Award winner for Best New Drama (please don't let us fans think it was meaningless), it consistently wins the coveted 19-49 demographic (of which I am a part) and has a devoted fanbase who will ship as much garlic as necessary to show you how much we want our show for a second (and third, and fourth . . . . but we'll settle for 2nd right now) season. But once the clerical error is corrected and Moonlight is listed as being renewed, we will continue to be a happy, supportive fan base-who will provide yummy recipes for all those tons of garlic!! :)

Unbelievable. How can CBS NOT renew Moonlight for a second season??? If I remember correctly, Moonlight has won its timeslot with both viewers and demo, almost every week. In more than one CBS press release, CBS has been praising Moonlight for consistently bringing in viewers and helping the network win the three-hour block on Friday nights. Even Les Moonves said that he expected Moonlight to return for a second season. WHY are they torturing us like this, after deciding to shoot four new episodes this spring??? I am disappointed and frustrated....this show and the fans deserve better. CBS~ do the right thing and renew Moonlight now.
Posted by Karen | February 14, 2008 7:20 PM
WHAT NO MOONLIGHT??? I am stunned to not see Moonlight on the list of renewed shows for fall! Moonlight won the People's Choice Award for Best New Drama, the show has consistently won the coveted demographics for the Friday night 9pm time slot and it has developed a huge (and growing) dedicated fan base. All of these things have brought positive media advertisement and recognition for CBS; "the buzz is good!" CBS did make the commitment to give us four more episodes in the spring but I do have to ask, why only four? Why are we being short changed? And, I must ask again, why is CBS not latching on to this winner of a show and renewing it for a FULL second season???
Posted by Becky | February 14, 2008 7:20 PM
Boy, what more does a show have to do to be renewed by CBS? One would think that 10 million votes for the People's Choice Award for Best New Drama would be enough! And for a show on Friday Nights. God knows you didn't put it on a prime television watching night, and yet it STILL won!
Be wise with your decisions...renew what the people want. And the people want MOONLIGHT!

Why is Moonlight not on the CBS 2008-2009 schedule? It has won its demo every week of original programming except one. It has won the Peoples Choice Awards as Favorite New TV Drama. The fans voted Mick and Beth as TV's Hottest Couple. The fan base is huge and growing by leaps and bounds! I can't understand this decision at all! CBS you gave us 4 new episodes one day and then did not put Moonlight on your fall schedule the next. This makes absolutely no sense to me!
Posted by Amy V. | February 14, 2008 7:43 PM
Well, let me say on the positive side I am delighted The Big Bang Theory is renewed. It is the best new sitcom in years.
For the Moonlight fans out there, good luck with your fight. I give it a 50-50 chance at renewal. It has a very vocal fan base, but it is the lowest rated CBS show every Friday. It always finishes below Ghost Whisperer. Personally, I think CBS will give it another chance, but no sure thing.

CBS - what more can we do to convince you that the fans of Moonlight want this show to be renewed for a second season? We have gotten it a People's Choice Award, filled out numerous CBS feedback forms, voted in all kinds of polls, etc. There are all sorts of creative videos for Moonlight out there on U Tube.It is being honored by the Paley Center. This is a high quality program reaching across numerous age groups. How much longer do we have to wait for the news that this program is being renewed?
Posted by Moonlightsonata | February 14, 2008 8:31 PM
Just one other thing. People's chocie award means nothing. The Class won the People's choice award for the best new comedy last year, and was canceled by CBS.
Posted by Scott | February 14, 2008 8:31 PM
Well Scott and CBS, if the People's Choice award doesn't mean anything, than I guess what the people prefer doesn't matter. What does - a few Nielsen families?
Posted by Moonlightsonata | February 14, 2008 8:35 PM
CBS: why not just commit and put your Moonight fans at rest.
I find it absurd that they have not been given a green light for a 2nd season! Do your people check out the various websites, forums etc. dedicated to this show and the actors?
Posted by Cindy | February 14, 2008 8:41 PM
CBS just needs to go ahead & renew Moonlight. What are they waiting for?
Posted by Jennifer | February 14, 2008 8:59 PM
I know CBS will do the right thing. They have to. There's no other option for them. As every entertainment commentator has noted, Moonlight has a huge fan base, both domestically and abroad. Forgot to mention the rabid part. My family and I tune in every Friday to watch regardless of whether Moonlight is a new episode or a rerun. CBS can be sure that we will be planted in front of the TV for the new and old episodes this Spring!!!
Moonlight solidarity, rah, rah, rah. Sit down and let your viewing vote be counted. Afterwards, stream the video. It's impossible to get enough!

I have read and re-read the CBS announcement and I still cannot believe what I have read. I am nearly speechless. Moonlight has been faced with nearly impossible production hardships, cast changes, no pilot episode, a three month writers' strike and still it has succeeded...against all odds. Moonlight is brilliantly written, has an extraordinary cast of superb actors, has stunningly beautiful sets, and has very hip and well chosen music. This show is a Mega Hit. With Moonlight about to be broadcast in Australia and in Great Britain, this show will be off the charts and will have a global audience of Rabid Fans! Moonlight may have had the lowest ranking of the three Friday night CBS shows, but because of Moonlight, CBS sweeps the Friday night ratings week after week. It also wins its timeslot week after week. CBS....the PEOPLE who watch television in general and CBS in particular, want Moonlight renewed for a second season. I am a member of that precious demographic that the networks so covet. I buy your sponsors products and I want Moonlight renewed. The People have spoken. The People want Moonlight renewed. Please listen to us.

Leaving off Moonlight has to be a mistake on the part of CBS. The show has consistently won the coveted demographic for CBS on, of all things, a Friday night. It is smart, eclectic and funny. The cast is made up of extremely talented actors who deserve the network's support, especially after they won the People's Choice Awards. Please, CBS, show your thanks to the fans of Moonlight by announcing a definite renewal of the show for a second season!
Posted by Isabelle | February 14, 2008 9:52 PM
I agree 100% with all of the posts made by my fellow Moonlight fans. I just cannot understand the many hoops that CBS is putting the cast, crew and fans through to get a second season renewal. And investing in 4 more new episodes in this post-strike season has won much gratitude from fans. Are we going to have to prove ourselves yet again as a very dedicated and vocal demographic? Why does it have to be a torturous and last minute decision? Just do it already! We'll be here.
Posted by Sonata14 | February 14, 2008 10:15 PM

drama and it still won the peoples choice awards for BEST NEW DRAMA!! and you're taking it away!! you guys better have moonlight back, or the rabid fans will come and get you!

moonlight? left in the dark? i think i'm gonna cry...
Posted by aries156 | February 14, 2008 10:50 PM
I for one cannot understand why CBS is dragging its feet in renewing this show. The demographic ratings are great, it won the PCA for Best New Drama, what more do they want?? It's very disappointing that they could leave a huge fan base hanging like this.
Posted by chukkagirl | February 14, 2008 11:10 PM
I know you guys love Moonlight, but the ratings are just okay. Yes, it has done okay in its time slot, but it always loses viewrs from Ghost Whisperer. That is not a recipe for a successful show. It needs to hold the Ghost Whisper audience to be really succesful. I think it might be brought, but it probably depends on how good the pilots are to replace it with next season.
Posted by Ed | February 15, 2008 3:54 AM
WHAT? I really can't understand this. Moonlight hasn't been pick up? It's the best show they've got now. It won People's Choice Awards for Best New Drama. What more do they want?
I really hope they correct that mistake. No Moonlight would be plain stupid.

Posted by Ukiahgal | February 15, 2008 4:53 AM
I have significant disposable income - with it I support people/products who, in turn, support Moonlight. I do not support people who do not support shows I enjoy. It is my belief that if CBS doesn't know what it has, maybe someone else will be interested in picking up Moonlight, and give it the budget and support it deserves.
Posted by mmarn | February 15, 2008 5:02 AM
I am really starting to loose my patcience with CBS and their wavering on Moonlight. If the PCA award doesn't mean anything then stop the awards. I am also tired of hearing about Ghost Whisperer, and keeping those viewers. I am not picking on that show in any way, I am simply saying I don't watch it but I tune in to Moonlight anyway. It's fine if they want to wait to see how the spring ratings go but at least include Moonlight in the press release and say that and talk about their winning the PCA, their ratings, their fans, etc. It only takes a couple of sentences to encourage us. What they need to understand is that people that like the show (unlike us loyal fans posting here) get discouraged from watching a show when their is no support behind it. Why bother they figure it is just going to be canceled.
Posted by Kim | February 15, 2008 5:59 AM
Being ticked off at CBS right now, is an understatement.
Leaving "MOONLIGHT" in the dark????
These actors have to make a living....so how long do these actors have to put their careers on hold?? How long?
My fear is they will move on & Moonlight will be no more.
This thought leaves me physically sick at this point. sick, sick, sick.
Posted by evah | February 15, 2008 6:27 AM
I am telling you guys, but you are not listening. The People's choice award means nothing. The Class won the people's choice award last year, and was canceled. It is about ratings, not awards. The show will be renewed or canceled based on ratings. Right now the ratings are mediocre, at best, and it probably has a 50-50 chance of renewal.
Posted by Ed | February 15, 2008 6:35 AM
No MOONLIGHT yet? How is this possible? Who makes these decisions? Here is a show with every element a network can wish for: an excellent lead in Alex O'Loughlin who has female fans of every age group excited , good stories, great cast, with the PCA award for new drama, a devoted fan base. I think a renewal is required!

Quite frankly, I'm very surprised and extremely disappointed that Moonlight hasn't been picked up for renewal for the 08-09 season.
Between gorgeous sets, tightly-written scripts that just get better and better with each new episode, and a stellar cast lead by hot newcomer Alex O'Loughlin, this show covers the spectrum of humor, suspense and drama. Moonlight has pulled consistently high numbers for a show that receives as little promotion from CBS as it does. This show has built an incredible fan base in a few short months as evidenced by numerous fan boards and a convention planned in May, for example.
This show is a refreshing change of pace in a barren landscape of reality TV and worn-out procedural shows. I call on CBS to give Moonlight a chance to show what it can do by giving it a full second-season renewal.
Posted by PNWgal | February 15, 2008 9:03 AM
CBS, Moonlight needs to be picked up for a second season, and should receive the support from CBS necessary to make it even more fabulous. Its cast, crew and writers have done an excellent job of turning out a stylish and compelling show this season, one that has built a fan base of people who are now watching CBS on Friday nights when we may not have been before Moonlight. What an incredible show it could be if CBS were to actually give it the support and investment it so deserves.

Moonlight! The winner of the PCA best new drama award 2008. The reason for millions of rabid fans (of All ages). Moonlight; honored with tons of fan websites, fantastic homemade YouTube videos, and very talented fan fiction. And now, even the Paley Center for Media is getting in on the act with a “special” Moonlight event on April 22nd, 2008. What more do you need?
I don’t know what the problem is; not renewing Moonlight. But I can tell you this for sure CBS. If you, CBS, do not renew Moonlight (and I mean soon) I will boycott CBS until you do! The “only” reason I will turn into CBS is to see the four Moonlight episodes in April. I will not tune in for Ghost Whisperer, Numbers, or any of the other CBS shows I watch when not reading great books. In the past I have been almost exclusively a CBS viewer.
But now I will not even allow the CBS channel turned on in my home if you, CBS, don’t get your act together, pronto!
No watching CBS, No watching your Advertising!
I can read books full time; I don’t “need” TV! Or, I can watch other channels; I don’t “need” CBS!
Because without Moonlight - I don’t need CBS; CBS needs ME!

I can't believe How I Met Your Mother wasn't given a definitive pick up or not, given they could still alter the post-strike episodes to end the series if they were killed off. (We could find out who is under that yellow umbrella!)
Same goes for Shark; CBS ordered four more post-strike episodes, but leaves the future of the series in the air. WTF?
We now return to all the Moonlight spam...

I hope all of you who are leaving comments here are also leaving them at CBS's Feedback section.
If Jericho fans could send peanuts to save the show, surely Moonlight fans coudld rally?

Hey CBS..Are you aware how much we all truly love this show? Well..we really and truly do LOVE Moonlight.
Come on now..let's get this show on the road.
You really can't be serious? No Moonlight renewal? It's a superb show with an extremely large fanbase growing quite rapidly. I am so jazzed about this show. It has a personality all it's own. Don't keep us all in the dark about it. Renew..renew please.
We're not going away..nor are we giving up on this show. We're all here for the long haul as they say. Bring Moonlight into the light that it truly belongs in...Friday at it's regular scheduled time.

Personally, I was hoping Kid Nation would get be brought back. CBS certainly needs help attracting younger viewers, and this turned out to be a great family oriented show.

I hope all these folks are also sending these opionions directly to CBS. I am sure they are. I already did and I intend to send messages to audicence services and Mr Mooves DAILY. Lets all do that to keep this front and center.
I don't know if they read all the internet buzz... lets take it to them and make sure they HEAR US.

I just read the news release on your 2008-2009 series renewals. What on earth are you people THINKING???
According to the article, you haven't renewed Moonlight and I can't believe it! Moonlight is one of the best new shows on CBS in a very long time... it's the People's Choice for best new drama for crying out loud! Doesn't that mean anything at all? Did management's brains go on strike with the writers or something? Maybe it's because it's one of the few shows on CBS that doesn't have the initials "CSI" in front of it…
Whatever the reason, you can rest assured that if you don’t renew it, that decision is going to go down in the books as solidly stupid and is going to give a whole lot of people a reason to tune in to a different network after Ghost Whisperer.
KEEP MOONLIGHT!!!

Moonlight should be renewed !!! Hello?? It works perfectly with GW !!!
I am the guy who started the nuts drive for Jericho..willing to do what I can to help the Moonlight fans..

No Moonlight?
Please don´t do this to us, i love this show...
I'm writing from Portugal, and the serie is still in episode 4 in here, but already i´m loving it...
Please continue the show, is there anyway to create a portal for the fan votes?

How can Moonlight NOT be on the list of renewals? We, the fans, have sent e-mails, we've sent letter, we've watched the episodes over and over again on CBS.com, we've purchased the episodes from iTunes and Amazon, we voted daily for weeks to make sure Moonlight would win the PCA -- we're even having a CONVENTION for this show! WHAT ELSE DO WE HAVE TO DO?

CBS
Do not betray us & give us full second season of MOONLIGHT.
Posted by evah | February 18, 2008 6:06 AM
Well, this just does NOT make sense to not renew Moonlight. It's the freshest new series CBS has put out in years. I got over making Katy Couric news anchor for national news (a move for which I swore to turn off the news). But if you take Moonlight off, I will turn off ALL CBS shows. Wise move in returning Jericho. Wish you would return Cane. You could get rid of the JUNK like Dexter. It's crazy to have a show like that. It's boring, and CBS should NOT be glorifying such a serious matter if serial killing. Somebody needs to have their head examined.
The two main characters and the main Yuppy vampire are EXCELLENT. I have never seen those characters before and there is something about them that IS contagious. The Vampire is so sexy I can't take my eyes off him. PLEASE bring this show back. Get rid of garbage like The Unit, which is also an unbelievable scenario, Dexter, Big Bang Theory, The Captain. You can't get ratings on that.
By the way the New Adventure of Old Christine should be kept. That show is actually funny and identifiable by many different walks of life.
I LOVE Survivor, Amazing Race and was a loyal fan of Big Brother until last season, when the season was obviously orchestrated and calculated for CBS to "reunite" a father and daughter. The whole thing smelled. And I doubt if those two stayed "reunited." I couldn't understand why they didn't get rid of that phony "father." He was so glaringly phonier than a three-dollar bill.
I remember a seaon when Big Brother took out a character because he seemed to be abusive to women. I'll never understand leaving the "father" in. He was abusive, mentally and physically, to women, homosexuals, religious people and I don't believe that the young people in the house weren't on to him. It was all for the ratings, and I thought it was worth turning off. Hopefully this season will be better. I'm giving it a shot, since I've watched it since its inception.
I was going to write last season about BB, but held my tongue. Now that you're thinking of not renewing Moonlight, that's just the straw that broke the camel's back.
I promise not to ever watch CBS again. Alas, I'm just one person, but I've conversed with many people about Moonlight and converted all my friends to Moonlight fans. There's just something about THAT vampire that makes me tingle.
Thanks for listening.
P>S> I have never been a Jimmy Smits fan, didn't like NYPD Blue, etc. I wasn't going to watch Cane, but after I did, I couldn't wait for next Tuesday to see more. He did a fine job. All the characters were surperb, the writing and production was fantastic. So what's with not renewing that? Perhaps following The Unit was not the right spot for it. The Unit, as far as I know from speaking with military people, was offensive; not with the missions The Unit undertook, but the less than real at-home situations.

They may not renew Moonlight, but we have to watch this crappy Big Brother show on CBS?? Puhleeze! Seems like all they want on TV these days is soft core porn. Sex sells huh? I will be devastated if they don't bring back Moonlight and that will be a fatal mistake by CBS.
Posted by Julie | February 20, 2008 3:50 PM
CBS, I was looking at the renewal list for 2008, and realized you left off the show, Moonlight. I'm sure this is an oversight on your part. After all, I need not remind you it was Moonlight that just won a People's Choice Award. Don't disappoint the vast and loyal fan base that Moonlight has. We pride ourselves on being rabid. Vampire solidarity, Rah, Rah, Rah!

Please reconsider your not renewing it.

CBS, must renew this show, Moonlight is the best show in years, I have never written about any show in my life but this show is addicting and the chemistry, the writing and best of all, are the actors. CBS is so lucky to find these actors they aren't the usual "cookie cutter" actors on TV, they are the real deal. This is a show you can watch over and over again. If cbs doesn't renew this show then they better cancel PEOPLES CHOICE AWARDS because its just a SCAM!! 10 million votes for Moonlight and voted Best New Drama and if that doesn't mean anything then CBS you wasted every ones time and you totally betrayed the fans of Moonlight. Please renew and before MAY don't make us wait, thank you.
Posted by winky | February 23, 2008 7:55 PM
Oh my gosh! I cannot believe that CBS is still sitting on this! Moonlight was by far the best new show period, comedy-drama-crime-romance it has it all! When are people of any sort of authority in these television super companies going to listen to the PEOPLE? Remember that little thing called the PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD! What was is something like 10 MILLION votes?!? Plus, I just read yesterday that Mick and Beth were voted TV Guide's sexiest tv couple. They were #1! Hello! I am sick of getting hooked on soemthing that is evidently great then all of a sudden, my new favorite programs are gone. CBS needs to get their act together and renew Moonlight for a second season already!!!

Ghost Whisperer? The Big Bang Theory? Numbers? Survivor? The Amazing Race? The Adventure of Old Christine? How I met your mother? Moonlight? BORING!BORING!BORING!BORING!BORING!BORING!BORING! WE WANT CANE!CANE!CANE!CANE!CANE!CANE!CANE!CANE!CANE!CANE! AND SEEING JIMMY SMITS SEXY BOD ON TV.
IT IS SO FRESH AND HOT, WHY ARE YOU NOT ANNOUNCING ITS RENEWAL YET WHEN YOU HAVE SO MANY BORING, BORING, BORING SHOWS ON TV. NOW IF KNOW WHY EVERYONE I KNOW WATCHES HGTV, THE FOOD NETWORK, THE NET WORK WITH DIRTY JOBS ON IT AND THE CHANNEL WITH DR. 90201, ITS BECAUSE THERE ARE NO OTHER GOOD SHOW BESIDES Cold Case, Criminal Minds, CSI, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, NCIS, and Without a Trace and the last couple of weeks they have been reruns. Strike or no Strike it sucks.

Hey! CBS,
You say it will depend on ratings..
...BUT YOU DO NOTHING TO HELP PROMOTE THE SERIES.
The fans has spoken loud & clear....now we need your help. Promote. Promote. Promote. Promote.
Posted by evah | February 27, 2008 8:07 AM
Where's Moonlight? It was so entertaining. Yet, they keep a bunch of crap on that is directed to an eighth grade education that's supposed to be funny and is not at all funny. This "alleged" comedy. Moonlight used to be on after Cold Case. Now they have some unentertaining contest on in that time slot. I don't understand it, they have a good entertaining program that only lasts a few months.

First Jericho and now Moonlight. Please CBS realize what is a great show and keep it around. We love you station and all if it's show, we just wish you would keep the best ones around without us having to point it out to you. Renew Moonlight and keep Friday night great for all of us loyal CBS viewers.

What About The Unit? Is Cbs totally forgeting that our country is at war? This show displayed a real life base of the army and was motivating many of our real troops that risk their lives. Now come on Cbs and put on a Fourth season of The Unit.
Posted by pete | March 9, 2008 6:30 PM
Look, do you really need to think about whether to keep Moonlight? I agree with K. Brown. Come on. Friday night viewing has stunk! Garth Brooks??????? Celine Dion? I am afraid...

CBS...I don't watch any of your TV shows, EXCEPT Moonlight. I cannot believe that you would let this one go. I finally found something I could watch besides reality TV and crime shows. How boring. I just don't get it. As some of the people have said, what more does a show have to do in order to get renewed for a second season. Stop listening to the critics and start listening to the fans.

I hope and pray everyday to see that CBS has renewed Moonlight for the fall season. I CANNOT live with out my fix of Mick and Beth, or MickBeth as we fans like to refer to them. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CBS hear our cry for more Moonlight. I would be truly devistated without it as I am sure that all of us would be. Finally a good show about a Vampire, one that is respectable and believable, and yet CBS is dragging its heels on this. I don't understand that. Please, it is a HUGE fan favorite. Not to renew would be insane!!!!

I think CBS just needs to keep Moonlight. It is a good show. Don't be fools and be like NBC they had a good show called Journey Man and boy they took it off before the strike was over. Did not even have a chance. I liked that show too. CBS why not pick that show up?. You have to keep Moonlight though and stop killing off so many people on your shows. It upsets us all.

No Moonlight. Well I guess I can call the cable company and have them remove CBS from my channels. Since, I won't be watching CBS anymore if Moonlight is not renewed. A smell a conspiracy, why were these cast members out promoting this show on Regis and Kelly, Late Show with Letterman? If a show was "on the bubble" as you have said, why not promote it a little nad get some more interest? Even if the don't have it on for Fall, it doesn't deserve at least a mid- season pick-up? I am so disappointed with the decision to drop Moonlight. I would love to know who the morons are that determine if a show is a hit or not, it certainly has nothing to do with how the fans react to a program. I cannot count the times that I have been enthralled in a series and the network idiots drop it and just leave us hanging. This has been a common occurence with CBS. I'm not saying it doesn't happen on the other networks, I have experienced the same, but it happens way to often with CBS. I am so tired of the endless, mindless, idiotic, unintelligent, asinine, imbecilic, well, crap that they keep throwing at us. Especially these reality shows. Please, please, stop!!! At the very least, they should give these shows the same amount of advertising and play time that they give the established shows and see if it doesn't keep the interest of the fans. At the rate they are going, there won't be a CBS to save before long!!

Cancel Moonlight...no way. CBS what are you thinking. It won the People's Choice Award, the right demographics, and during a season where the writer's strike interrupted programming just when Moonlight's fan base was becoming solid you want to take it off the air. It's the only program my husband, 2 teenage sons and I love to watch together...and Friday night time slot is great.Isn't this the type of ratings every station and their sponsors would love to have? I can think of several shows that should have been dropped a long time ago, but yet you keep them and want to drop a new series that has a unique story line and an already dedicated following of viewers. At least give it another season. Cancel it and CBS I will boycott not only your station but your sponsors also. Do I have your attention now!

I am shocked that Moonlight is not returning. Please, please keep it on the air. It has a great cast and story. A new twist on the modern vampire. There are many of us out there that love the show. Give it another chance. Renew for another season!!
Posted by Sue | May 23, 2008 5:37 AM
I think it would suck to not give Moonlight a second season. The show won a Award for favorite new drama, chosen by the people. If the T.V companies just want to make shows that win awards based on a board that picks the best shows and not the viewers I guess they can and we suffer for it. If it was me I would keep shows that win Viewers Choice Awards. It is only like the networks to ax every cool show they make before it gets a real shot. Hey they want to keep room for shows like E.R., American Gladiators, American Idol,Two and a Half Men and others like Survivor 12. How can they keep the cool shows such as Moonlight, when they need room to keep pumping out CRAP!

I'm so sad to know that MOONLIGHT hasn't been renewed. What a shame!!!! No doubt it was one of the best... most entertaining shows on CBS!
I just don't get it... is "reality tv" the only thing people want to watch? Don't get me wrong... I do love BB and TAR... but MOONLIGHT made a BIG BITING change in a really tasty way!
I was a big fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel... and MOONLIGHT lived up to those shows and then passed them. A really entertaining show that WILL BE MISSED if not reconsidered.
A sad MOONLIGHT fan... I am!!!!

Friday would be the Perfect T.V. Night and CBS would have the ratings to prove it!!! Come on CBS who are you gonna listen to, some stuffed shirts in a boardroom, or the fans of these shows who also support your commerical sponsors? We Don't need or want another crime show, we Want our Moonlight!!! So come on CBS show your support of your viewers and give us Moonlight!!!

Come on CBS!!!! Two and a Half Men--Get Real!!! That show has been dead for several years now. Moonlight was the best show on the air without a doubt. Friday nights will never be the same. Friday ratings will suffer greatly due to this decision. The Ex List will never compare to Moonlight. Perfect actors and perfect writing!!! A combo like that will never happen again!!!!

NCIS is truly 1st rate. Please renew for 08-09 but can you turn down the background music (noise) so that we can hear the dialog. Much of the crutial explanations are overwhelmed by building music for dramatic effects. We love the characters and never miss a week (even reruns).

Thanks to fans' relentless efforts to support and promote Moonlight, the supernatural series was named “Favorite New TV Drama” on Wednesday's telecast of the 34th Annual People's Choice Awards on the CBS Television Network. " Yet...we didn't renew it for this season! WHY????

Unique, humorous, & romantic; with a fresh cast that is very easy on the eyes. I really enjoyed this series; and hope CBS will bring it back.

I had come home to watch battlestar galatica when I come across this show on the sci fi channel about a vampire that is a private investigator. I had never seen it before and I liked what I did see and then I found out it had a whole season.
So I bought the dvd of moonlight but now I want it to come back with a 2nd season. Even my father liked it and he is 71 yrs old and he didn't like the way it just ended like that. I think the actors that played mick and josef are cute. I also think the characters and the actors portray the characters work well. I like the story line and I need a second season
