CNET TV Adds Closed Captioning
Tech Web site Cnet.com launched an updated version of its online TV portal today at www.cnettv.com, adding closed captioning for its video content.
CNET said “hundreds” of CNET TV videos will be available with closed captioning via a button labeled “CC” on the video player. That includes CNET TV shows like “The Buzz Report,” “CNET Top 5,” “CNET Live” and others.
The Web company said it introduced the feature because closed captioning was one of the most popular requests from users over the last two years.
“There are more than 30 million deaf and hard-of-hearing people in America today, and CNET is proud to be one of the first Web sites to offer comprehensive closed captioning of its video content so this group can turn to CNET to explore today’s digital world,” said Joe Gillespie, executive vice president of CNET in a statement.
