CW Lets 'WWE Smackdown' Go

The CW will stop carrying “WWE Smackdown” at the end of the 2007-08 season, World Wrestling Entertainment said late Thursday.

WWE said it began talks with other networks after the CW’s exclusive negotiation period expired on Jan. 31.

Among those likely to be contacted are MyNetworkTV, some of whose affiliates carried wrestling when they were UPN stations, and NBC Universal, which runs some WWE events in late night and whose USA cable channel carries WWE Raw on Monday nights.

Dan:

I think smackdown should be on the USA Network on Friday nights. I think USA Network has a very good HD Signal.

Joe:

I think Smackdown should be on Thursday nights to end TNA.

Chris:

I remember watching the very first Smackdown before it became an official show. I don't watch wrestling now a days so this is not a big deal now a days.

Tom:

i don't understand why ending TNA makes your life better? does snuffing out someone else's light make your world brighter?

jill:

Uhm Tom, disagree strongly.!
TNA deserves nothing.

Kristina:

Chris you may not watch wrestling now a days but there are a lot us who still watch it now a days. The fan base it extremely large. If you don't care about wrestling, why are you bothering to blog about it now a days?
