Web video metadata company Gotuit has launched a program that makes it easier for publishers to manage and distribute their video assets through metadata.
Gotuit VideoMaker Pro allows publishers to add metadata—information within the media—to their video clips, including names, topics, highlights, dialogue and other descriptive information; this helps assets to increase their range on video search engines and feeds.
Gotuit hopes the new program will increase traffic and interaction with customers’ clips, thereby increasing ad-related revenue.
“Publishers now recognize that to fully realize the value of their video libraries, they must make their video easier to find and more enjoyable to watch,” Gotuit CEO Mark Pascarella said. “Gotuit VideoMaker Pro puts this power into the hands of publishers and fundamentally changes how broadband video can be monetized.”
Through more specific metadata, advertisers can work with publishers to better target their ad placement, which Gotuit says will allow publishers to charge higher ad rates.
