NBC News, MSNBC Team With MySpace for Election

NBC News and MSNBC.com have partnered with MySpace to create an election-related destination on the social-networking site that features news, analysis and discussion about politics.

The information hub, Decision ’08, will feature live election coverage, news feeds, and recap videos from NBC New and MSNBC.com, MySpace-user-generated content, and profiles of anchors and pundits like Brian Williams and Chris Matthews.

It will be incorporated into MySpace’s Impact channel, an area of the site for civic and social engagement. Decision '08 aims to give MySpace users, who the company estimates number around 100 million, the chance to do their own reporting and to contribute to forums, blogs, and polls.

“The 2008 election is proving to be the most youth- and technology-driven race in history, and MySpace is a significant forum for political discussion today,” Lee Brenner, executive producer of political programming at MySpace, said in a statement.
