YouTube Sketchies Prize Goes to WaverlyFilms
YouTube partner WaverlyFilms (known on YouTube by user name WaverlyFlams) is taking home $40,000 in prizes and cash as the big winner of the video site’s second annual “Sketchies” contest, YouTube announced today in its blog.
WaverlyFilms was one of 10 finalists voted for by YouTube visitors. The WaverlyFilms team, filmmakers in Brooklyn, will receive $25,000 in cash, $15,000 in production equipment and the chance to meet with talent agents at United Talent Agency.
YouTube will present the 10 finalist videos on its home page today in the order in which the community voted for them. After today, the finalists will be features in the Sketchies playlist and Sketchies channel on the site. The Sketchies contest is for original sketch comedy.
