IFC Films is joining forces with Amazon to make its library available through the Internet company’s Unbox technology.
The digital video service downloads films to personal computers, TiVo boxes and portable media players. IFC Films titles including Oscar nominees “Y tu mama tambien” and “After the Wedding” will be made available for purchase and rent.
“This partnership with Amazon reinforces our commitment to creating the widest possible audience for independent films using multiple media platforms,” said Lisa Schwartz, IFC Entertainment’s senior VP of sales and business development, in a statement Tuesday. “We’re excited that Amazon is sharing in our mission to give millions of film lovers across the country the opportunity to access our acclaimed library of movies.”
