Dunkin Donuts is sponsoring a new feature as New England Sports Network’s stadium dating show “Sox Appeal” returns for a second season.
In the show, one Sox fan goes on three two-inning dates during a ball game. During the seventh-inning stretch, the fan picks which contestant he’d like to spend the rest of the game with.
This season, a post-date interview, dubbed the Dunkin Donuts Morning After, will be conducted by New England Patriots linebacker Larry Izzo.
Also new this season, the three contestants will stand together on Fenway Park’s right-field roof deck, providing an opportunity for added drama.
The first episode of season two was shot during a July 5 game against the Tampa Bay Rays and will air Aug. 3. During that game, the Sox and the Rays had a bench-clearing brawl.
“Last year, Sox Appeal exceeded our ratings, sales and critical expectations, and we are building off that success with the sophomore season,” said Joel Feld, NESN’s VP of programming and executive producer of the series. “We’ve taken feedback from Red Sox Nation, added a few new twists and made the show hotter, sexier and funnier.”
