Lollapalooza Lands at Fuse

Music network Fuse has signed on as the official broadcast partner of the 2008 Lollapalooza music festival.

The network will be originating programming from the annual festival, to be held Aug. 1-3 in Chicago.

Fuse will cover breaking news and provide behind-the-scenes interviews with musicians and attendees during the festival. Coverage will be hosted by the channel’s Steven Smith.

Fuse also will air Lollapalooza-themed editions of its shows including “Loaded” and “No. 1 Countdown” that will feature videos from performers at the event.

After the festival wraps, Fuse will show highlights during “Rewind Week.”

“Fuse is committed to bringing the biggest and best music events to television,” said network President Eric Sherman.

Fuse also was the official broadcast partner for the Bonnaroo festival in Manchester, Tenn., last month.

Big-name musical acts scheduled to appear at Lollapalooza include Radiohead, Kanye West, Nine Inch Nails and Gnarls Barkley.
