Montel Visits 'Guiding Light'

Longtime talk-show host Montel Williams is returning to television this summer, but not in his usual format.

The host of “The Montel Williams Show,” which ended its 17-year run in May, will appear as a concerned father on the CBS soap opera “Guiding Light.” Mr. Williams has guested previously on “All My Children,” “My Name Is Earl” and “Jag.”

On episodes of “Guiding Light” to air Friday, Aug. 1, and Tuesday, Aug. 5, he will portray Clayton Boudreau, the father of Remy and Mel Boudreau, regular characters who attend the show’s fictional Springfield University.

“Light,” which switched to a more “realistic” visual and stylistic format in February, is produced by Procter & Gamble Productions.
