Creating outfits for celebrities appears to be the thing that gets new designers noticed.
That should be especially true for aspiring designers appearing on TLC’s new reality series “Who Are You Wearing?”
The series, which launches Aug. 22, pits four shears-wielding contestants against one another as they try to dress a celebrity judge for a red-carpet event. The judge gets a sharp ensemble while the winner gets unmatched exposure.
TLC has lined up an above-average list of celebrities for the series. They include Ali Landry, Alison Sweeney, Brooke Burke, Holly Robinson Peete, Kirsten Haglund, Laila Ali, Marilu Henner, Melissa Rivers, Sara Evans and Stacy Keibler.
“Who Are You Wearing?” is being hosted by Keisha Whitaker, a former model and wife of Oscar-winning actor Forest Whitaker.
“This series, unlike any other design challenge series, is going to give everyday people—moms and students and people who have a passion for design—an amazing opportunity to learn what it is like to create clothing for high-profile people,” said Stephanie Bianco, TLC director of programming. “Keisha brings a great sense of personal style, and the celebrity gives the designer insight into the demanding world of red-carpet fashion.”
“Who Are You Wearing” is in production in Los Angeles. It is executive produced by Fernando J. Hernandez and Mark Koops.
